Dear Salvation Army Bell Ringing Coordinator: 2010
We are looking forward to another good Bell Ring this year with more than the 36 RV parks that rang last year. There are families who will have something to celebrate this Christmas season because of the efforts of those who ring the Salvation Army Bell. The Bell locations you rang last year will be held for you until November 12th, If you would like to add another Bell this year, look at the work sheet to see what suits you best and call the Bell Ring coordinator for RV Ringers, Estela Rodriguez (682-1468, 9 am-12 & 1-5 pm) to see if the location you want is still available. Then sign up workers to ring for 2 hours in teams of two from 10 am til 8 pm or 10 pm for the days that are chosen. Each person should ring the same day and time each week. This will require 10 or 12 people to ring each Bell.
This year the Army will start ringing November 16th , the Friday before Thanksgiving, but will not ring on Thanksgiving Day. Feel free to bring 1 chair, so, if one
ringer tires, they may sit for a few minutes and let their partner stand alone. Call Estela Rodriguez (682-1468, 9 am-12 & 1-5 pm) as soon as possible to confirm, so she can put you on the confirmed list before November 12th. You are given 3 sign up sheets so, if you fill up one team, start a second for another date or location. Nine groups rang more than one bell last year.
Do not call the store about your bucket; they do not know about bucket delivery. We will be leaving buckets the evening before you ring, if possible. Look for the bucket near the door before you call the Army. We have only 3 trucks and many buckets. We will make every effort to arrive near the time requested for pick up.
You will have a sign showing your Park-Club name and it is to be attached to the Army Bell sign while you are ringing. First ringers place it and last ringers return it to the first ringers for next week. Call me if your sign needs to be replaced.
If you need aprons, at $9.00 for one, $15.00 for two, with your group's name, give me a call. We have Salvation Army Bell Ringer Volunteer Caps for $10.00 ea.
Delivery will be approx. one week.
Let your group know the location and days you are ringing. Urge them to come by and say hello. Last year, we had several parks that set up a collection kettle in their Park hall. It was a real help. Let me know if you need one. We need to work extra hard this year, and a nearly empty bucket needs filling.
There will be a Bell Ringer meeting in January to review the results of our Christmas work.
The Salvation Army and those who will have a better Christmas say: God Bless you for your effort.
