We all know that Luby’s is a great place to go for lunch and dinner because you can choose from a great selection of food at a reasonable price; but, did you know that on Saturday and Sunday you can get an all-you-can-eat breakfast for only $3.99! (if you want the Omelet Bar it is only $1 more).
We went in on a Saturday morning and everyone was friendly and helpful. Naturally, I started at the omelet bar where I got to pick from a large variety of items I could put into my omelet—I chose ham, cheese, mushrooms, spinach, and jalapenos). You can wait for the omelet, or they will bring it out to you. The rest of the line was filled with just about anything you can imagine for breakfast—you are sure to find your favorite items from home, as well as all of your favorite local items from here in the Valley.
The dining room is large, making this the ideal place for those big groups that like to go out to breakfast…having each person go through the line to get their own food eliminates those issues of ordering and waiting to get served that seems to be the problem in most restaurants. While they can handle almost any size group, there are plenty of places to sit if it is just the two of you. The staff in the dining room was attentive and kept our water and coffee full, and were willing to get any more food that you might want.
So, next weekend (anytime from November to March), if you want an excellent breakfast for a great price, give Luby’s a try. But, don’t forget that they are also a great option for lunch or dinner—and for those big groups, talk to Jeff because he might be able to negotiate a good price.
One other thing about dinner is the ½ portions that are available for anyone with the smaller appetite! Luby’s seems to have thought of everything that us Winter Texans might want.
