About Our Program At Girl Scouts, we’ll help you unleash your inner G.I.R.L. (Go-getter, Innovator, Risk-taker, Leader)™! How? Through the Girl Scout Leadership Experience—a variety of fun and challenging activities, like earning badges, selling cookies, going on exciting trips, exploring the outdoors, and doing community service projects. At Girl Scouts, you’ll get to lead your own adventure (it’s your world!), and work with other girls to pick and choose the exciting, hands-on activities you want to do. The idea is to learn by doing, and at Girl Scouts, you’ll do lots of it. You’ll also grow more confident. Because the more new things you try, the more likely you are to discover what you’re really good at and use it to help yourself and others. You’ll learn how to be kind, honest, responsible, and caring, and you’ll practice the kind of open communication that leads to healthy relationships. When we all get along, there is no limit to what we can accomplish! The experiences you’ll have in Girl Scouts will allow you try things you may not be good at. Here, we know that failure is inevitable and a necessary step to success. At Girl Scouts, activities aren’t about winning; they’re about learning. We believe, without a doubt, that every girl has the power to change the world. At Girl Scouts you’ll learn to identify problems in your community (and around the world!) and create action plans to solve them. Put simply, at Girl Scouts you will: Discover. Find out who you are, what you care about, and what your talents are. Connect. Collaborate with other people, both locally and globally, to learn from one another and expand your horizons. Take Action. Do something to make the world a better place. With Girl Scouts, you’ll do more than you ever thought you could, dream bigger dreams than you ever imagined, and—oh, yeah—change the world. Bet you didn’t think rock climbing or selling cookies would help you do all that, did you? Get started today!
