Raw Apple Bread

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup chopped, peeled raw apples
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts, optional

INSTRUCTIONS

Mix 1 cup of sugar, eggs, buttermilk, vanilla, shortening, baking soda, flour and apples. Put into greased bread pan. Mix 1 teaspoon sugar and cinnamon. Spread on top before baking. Bake at 350 degrees F. for 30-45 minutes.
