H.O.P.E. (Helping Other People Emotionally)

Date: July 11, 2018 - May 29, 2019
McAllen Public Library - (956) 255-0190
H.O.P.E. (Helping Other People Emotionally), which was founded in 2009 as a support group for cancer patients and their caregivers by Marsha Nelson, PhD. It has evolved into a support group for EVERYONE who needs or desires emotional support. By utilizing the Creative Journal Expressive Arts (CJEA) methods of Lucia Capacchione, PhD, ATR, REAT, we offer tools for maintaining better mental, emotional, and physical health. In using these exercises, participants are applying proven principles of mental health and preventive medicine. You are sharpening your sensory awareness and paying close attention to your whole being: body-emotions-mind-and spirit.

We meet every Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. to noon, at the McAllen Public Library in Conference Room B, 4001 N. 23rd, McAllen, Texas.

H.O.P.E. is sponsored by non-profit 501(c)3 Project Insight. Donations are gratefully accepted.
